Haven't written in a little while so figured I'd write a little update this evening, before the football starts of course.
My recovery is going really well, in fact, probably a bit better than I thought it would this soon. It's hard to think that the operation was less than 3 weeks ago, but it seems like a lot longer now. Mind you, I did find one staple in the back of my head earlier today, which was nice. I did wonder if I should have a go at removing it myself, but then thought better of it.
My various bruises are almost gone completely from my hands and arms, but it'll be a while longer before my barnett grows back properly! The hair has started to grow back a bit, but at the moment it kinda just looks like I've a HUGE side parting!
The only real problems I'm having at the minute is not sleeping and eating too much!! Apparently it's expected with the medication, but at this rate I'm going to be a real porker come the new year!! I've a review appointment in mid December, so hopefully I'll come off the stuff that makes me so hungry all the time. Christmas is really NOT the time to be on stuff like that!!
Other than that though, I'm in really good spirits, enjoying spending time with the family and generally looking forward to a full recovery and getting on with my life again. I've started trying to get out and do around 30 minutes of walking a day for the last few days, and that's going well too. Although, must admit, the first couple of times did take it out of me a bit.
Thanks again to everyone who's been sending through their best wishes, I've really appreciated it. So until the next enrty, take it easy, Dave

Test Results, Great News!!!!!!!!!!
GET IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!
Just when I thought this was going to be the longest weekend ever, I had a call from the neurosurgeon letting me know that the test results had come back and that the tumour was a grade I meningioma and was benign. That basically means that I can concentrate on recovering fully and don't have any more necessary treatment.
Man I could murder a frosty beer now, but it'll be a while before that. So if you're reading this, make sure you have one for me!! And I'm going to order in a celebration curry with my beautiful wife

Staples Out
The nurse came around today and I had the staples removed from my head, which was nice. Not too sure exactly how many there where in total but when we stopped for a bit of a break at 20 and I think there where about 10 more or so after that. Not something I'd recommend as spending a relaxing afternoon, but it's over and done with now and I look a little less like a Mad Max extra.

Message From Dave
Hey everyone, just a short message to thank everyone for all the best wishes and, of course, cool gifts ;-)
I'm still very much feeling the effects of the op at the moment, but do feel a bit better every day. Use of my left arm kinda comes and goes a bit, which is highly annoying, but I knew that could be a temporary side affect of the op and will be fine once the swelling has gone down.
Thanks again and will write again soon

Day 3 - Operation
Operation went well, they removed all the tumour which is really good news and have sent it off for analysis - 5 days wait for results.
Dave is now back on the ward very dazed and confused but ok. Tomorrow hopefully all the tubes will be taken out and he will be a little more comfortable.
